DIY Binding Separation Agreement

If you have reached an agreement on how you will divide your assets and liabilities, then you should formally document your separation agreement. Our DIY Binding Separation Agreement (DIY BSA) kit enables you to create your own separation agreement. Also called a Separation Binding Financial Agreement (Separation BFA), a BSA helps separated couples achieve a peaceful settlement.

Our DIY BSA Kit applies equally to de facto and same-sex couples. We regularly review and update our DIY BSA Template to ensure it is current and comply with federal and State legislation.

Our DIY BSA is designed to help you prepare and better understand your settlement arrangement before you seek formal legal advice. However, it will only be binding and enforceable in the Family Court if each party has received legal advice and certification from independent family law lawyers (see BSA Plus).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. ORDER: Select your State then click “Add to Cart,” verify your order then click “Proceed to Checkout.” Choose your preferred payment option—direct by credit/debit card, thru Xero Invoice, or a pay-later option thru AfterPay.
2. CONFIRM: Check your inbox for the confirmation email and follow the instructions to download the information leaflet and DIY BSA template.
3. UNDERSTAND: Read the information kit carefully to understand the steps you must take to create a draft of your BSA.
4. DRAFTING: Edit the DIY BSA template based on your circumstance to create your own separation agreement.
5. UPGRADE: You can upgrade to the BSA Assist or to the BSA Plus at any time and receive a full refund on your DIY BSA.
