DIY Binding Financial Agreement

If you have personal investments or financial interests that you want to protect in case of a relationship breakdown, then consider creating a financial agreement. Our DIY Binding Financial Agreement (BFA) enables you to document and write your own agreement about the division of your assets. Also called a prenuptial or de facto agreement, a BFA is for couples intending to get married or are already married or intending to live together or are already living together.

Our DIY BFA applies equally to same-sex couples. Moreover, it is designed to help you prepare and better understand your BFA before you seek formal legal advice.

We regularly review and update our DIY kits to ensure they are current and comply with federal and State legislation. However, our DIY BFA will only be enforceable in the Courts if each party has received legal advice and certification from two (2) independent law firms (see BFA Plus).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. ORDER: Select your State then click “Add to Cart,” verify your order then click “Proceed to Checkout.” Choose your preferred payment option—direct by credit/debit card, thru Xero Invoice, or a pay-later option thru AfterPay.
2. CONFIRM: Check your inbox for the confirmation email and follow the instructions to download the information leaflet and DIY BFA template.
3. CREATE: Edit the DIY BFA template based on your circumstance to create your own BFA.
4. UPGRADE: You can upgrade to our BFA Plus service at any time and receive a full refund on the DIY BFA kit.

Upgrading to the BFA Plus will enable both parties to receive legal advice. However, there is no guarantee that the advising lawyers will automatically certify the agreement (please see our Terms and Conditions).
